Cinco de Mayo Pear Guacamole

It’s time to fiestaaaaaaa!!!
I love Cinco de Mayo and all the Mexican food it brings! Especially because it’s the perfect time for me to pull out my not so secret guac recipe!

I know what you’re thinking. Why pears?
One Summer I was staying at my friend’s place and she had a box of VERY ripe pears that needed to be consumed. Since I was doing a lot of the cooking I decided I would start incorporating pears into my dishes – including the guacamole. I died and went to avocado heaven right there and then.
AND SO CAN YOU!

Pear Guacamole

– 2 avocados
– 1 tomato
– 1/4 onion
– 1 pear (peeled)
– juice from 1/2 an orange
– 1/2 tsp. cumin
– salt and pepper

Dice up avocados, tomato, onion, and pear. Mix together and squeeze orange juice into guacamole. Start with 1/2 tsp. cumin and build up depending on your tastes. Salt and pepper ALWAYS.

And there you go! Enjoy enjoy enjoy!!
Happy Cinco de Mayo!
