Okay. Humour me for a second.
Close your eyes (just pretend since you need to keep reading). Imagine you are about to enter a giant room full of hungry people. All you have with you is a tub of cookie dough. As you walk past the guests they begin to lay their eyes on you because one by one they notice that you are carrying the forbidden treat. The raw food item that once was taboo (mostly for containing egg) is about to be served up to them in cute little mason jars. The sweet nectar that is cookie dough may now shamelessly pass through their awaiting mouths, their tastebuds reeling in the anticipation of heaven.
Alright – enough of that! I’m THRILLED to be a part of this virtual potluck put on by Piquant for local food bloggers! Over 35 bloggers are bringing a dish (read: recipe) to this party and you can check out the full list of posts with recipes HERE.
Let’s get into my post already!
Edible Cookie Dough
– 2 cups butter
– 1 cup sugar
– 2 tsp vanilla
– 3 1/2 cup flour (for Red Velvet use a cake mix in replacement for flour)
– whatever you’d like to add (chocolate chips, PB, sprinkles, raisins, nuts, caramel)
Cream together the butter, sugar, and vanilla. Then add flour and add-ins.
Actually the simplest recipe ever! You can also just take the leftovers and spoon them onto a baking sheet, then bake the leftover cookie dough at 350 degrees until slightly golden.
Don’t forget to check out the incredible dishes lined up before and after mine!
